The Southwest Metro Amateur Radio Transmitting Society, Inc. is a non-profit club dedicated to promoting the Amateur Radio hobby. Anyone is welcome to join us at our monthly meetings, currently held at Auburn Manor in Chaska on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00PM. There is also a monthly breakfast at local restaurants on the third Saturday of the month. SMARTS sponsors VE test sessions (W5YI) on the third Monday of the month at 6:30PM. These are currently held at the Eden Prairie Library. Tests are conducted for all classes of license.

SMARTS owns and operates the club repeater, WB0RMK on a frequency of 147.165+600. SMARTS members help out with many public service activities during the year and many SMARTS members participate in Carver County ARES/RACES. The ARES Net meets on the club repeater every Sunday evening at 8:30PM
